Today we saw the movie Gattaca in class today. The movie shed some light on the dangers of the human genome project and how being able to genetically alter babies can change society. I think it would be very tempting for individuals to create their “perfect child.” It would be very tempting to pick a baby’s sex, size, attractiveness, intelligence, wit, and character. If this becomes scientifically possible, there will be wealthy people paying for this luxury.
